Minister: Belarusian construction industry seeks to maximize cooperation with partners

Organizations of the Belarusian construction industry seek to maximize cooperation with their partners, Belarusian Architecture and Construction Minister Ruslan Parkhamovich said at a meeting of the ministry's collegium which reviewed the performance of the country's construction industry in H1 2021 and outlined the industry development goals, BelTA learned from the press service of the Construction and Architecture Ministry.

The minister noted that the housing construction targets were met in H1 20221. The industry commissioned a total of 2,040,600 square meters of new homes, including 866,400 square meters for citizens in need of better housing, of which 632,500 square meters with the use of state support, 451,900 square meters of new homes for large families, 908,400 square meters of individual residential houses, and 74,400 square meters of rental housing," Ruslan Parkhamovich said.

According to the minister, the ratio of the cost of one square meters of housing built with state support and the nominal average monthly salary was 0.81 in H1 2021.

Speaking about the H1 performance of the industry, Ruslan Parkhamovich cited some figures: the profitability amounted to 8.5% and that export of goods rose by 22.9%. Industrial output went up 0.4% year-on-year. "Energy saving indicators stood at minus 1.6%, while the target was minus 1.4%. Inventories are decreasing," said Ruslan Parkhamovich.

The minister expressed confidence that the sector would meet its targets by the end of the year. All necessary measures are taken for this purpose. "Specialists have determined the lines of work which need to be strengthened or adjusted, new markets to be explored. We are continuously working with our partners to maximize mutually beneficial cooperation. I draw special attention of each company to the fact that the ministry keeps tight control over the work to achieve the targets," he said.

During the meeting Head of the Main Department of Economy and Foreign Economic Activity Viktoriya Manova reported on the measures to prevent unreasonable and unfair mediation in the procurement of goods (works, services) and product sales. Deputy Head of the Main Department of Industry Igor Buka, while presenting the report on the innovative development of organizations within the system of the Architecture and Construction Ministry, noted that in H1 2021 the share of shipped innovative products exceeded 28% of the total volume.
