GRODNO, 10 June (BelTA) – Belarus has been pursuing effective policy for many years, assistant of the editor-in-chief of Nash Sovremennik magazine Vladimir Popov told BelTA. A delegation of foreign journalists toured of the Grodno Oblast companies on 9 June.
Vladimir Popov takes part in the Modern Belarus: An Outside Perspective project that is held as part of the 5th Belarusian International Media Forum.
Vladimir Popov will present his outlook on Belarus’ economic development and describe his impressions about the country in his book with a working title The Belarusian Way. In his words, the model of social and economic development chosen by Belarus is the model for other CIS countries. The country, which is not rich in mineral resources, managed to preserve the major companies and re-equip them without reducing the number of jobs. The participants of the media forum have toured of a number of facilities, which prove that Belarus has created quality living conditions, Vladimir Popov said.
On 10 June, the journalists are scheduled to visit the successful companies of the Grodno Oblast such as Grodnokhlebprodukt, Grodno Khimvolokno, and Zov. The guests are also set to tour of Neman sports complex and meet with the Grodno Oblast Governor Semyon Shapiro.
The 5th Belarusian International Media Forum takes place on 8-11 June. Taking part in it are nearly one hundred foreign journalists. Journalists from Russia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan are visiting the Grodno Oblast.
