Reconstruction of Kalozha Church in Grodno to turn into all-community project

GRODNO, 30 July (BelTA) – The reconstruction of Sts Boris and Hleb Church (Kalozha Church) in Grodno will become an all-community project, BelTA learnt from chairman of the Grodno oblast executive committee Semyon Shapiro. A session held by the governor and attended by the heads of the Grodno companies, structural subdivisions of the oblast executive committee and clergy, focused on the ways to reconstruct the church. >>>

FEZ Grodnoinvest welcomes five new residents in 2010

GRODNO, 29 July (BelTA) – Five new residents have been registered in the free economic zone Grodnoinvest this year, BelTA learned from Deputy Head of the FEZ Administration Alexander Ponomarev. Among the newcomers is the FerrumMontazh Company that produces power efficient engineering systems and constructions. The Konus state-run company under the NASB scientific center of agricultural mechanization is involved in the design works of an HD galvanizing plant in the free economic zone. >>>

Goodyear eager to buy Grodno Khimvolokno tire yarn

At present Goodyear is examining Grodno Khimvolokno’s capabilities to manufacture the products up to Goodyear standards. BelTA has been told that as part of its quality management procedures Grodno Khimvolokno receives feedback from customers. >>>

Traffic restricted via border checkpoint Benyakoni on 26 July

MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – Vehicle traffic will be restricted via the border checkpoint Benyakoni at 10:00-17:00 on 26 July 2010, the press service of the State Customs Committee told BelTA. The restrictions are required to commission the border checkpoint after its reconstruction. Belarus’ Customs recommends truckers and individuals to use the international automobile border checkpoints Kammeny Log and Kotlovka to cross the Belarusian-Lithuanian border at this time. >>>

Lithuanian Premier to go on a biking tour in Belarus

VILNIUS, 15 July (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Lithuania Andrius Kubilius will come to Belarus on a biking tour: he will spend a week biking along the roads of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania visiting Nesvizh and Lida, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Lithuanian Premier. According to the Spokesman of the Premier, Andrius Kubilius plans to meet with representatives of the Belarusian authorities. >>>

Grodno university hosts International summer school for young economists

GRODNO, 7 July (BelTA) – An international summer school for young scientists-economists has opened in the Yanka Kupala State University in Grodno, BelTA learned from the mass communications center of the university. The SCIENNOMIS 2010 International Summer School will operate at the economy and management department of the Grodno university on 6-10 July. Attending the school are leading domestic and foreign specialists in econometrics and more than 30 young professors, students, candidates for a master's degree and postgraduate students from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Poland. >>>

Belarus, Poland to open four information and tourist centers in 2010

GRODNO, 6 July (BelTA) – Belarusian-Polish information and tourist centers will be set up in Warsaw, Bialystok, Brest and Grodno by the end of 2010, BelTA learnt from Deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism of Belarus Cheslav Shulga who took part in a session of the Belarusian-Polish working group for cooperation in tourism in Grodno. Neman increases production of import-substituting products by 60% in January-April

GRODNO, 27 May (BelTA) – In line with the import-substituting program, the Grodno-based tobacco factory Neman produced 4.79 billion cigarettes, up 60.3% over the same period last year, BelTA learned from Assistant Director General of Neman Dmitry Chugai.
